Materials

Material choice decides compression recovery, outdoor life, adhesive performance, cost, and the documents that can be provided for a project.

Material Options

Material Best Fit Notes
EPDM Outdoor electrical enclosures, control cabinets, HVAC units Good weather, ozone, aging, and water resistance. Not ideal for long oil exposure.
Silicone High or low temperature, UV exposure, soft sealing Flexible and stable, usually higher cost than EPDM or NBR.
NBR Oil-resistant gasket applications Useful around oils and fuels, less preferred for long outdoor exposure.
Neoprene / CR Balanced industrial sealing and foam gaskets Good general-purpose option when weather, oil, and flame behavior all matter.
EVA / PU Foam Cushioning, dust sealing, packaging, low-pressure sealing Confirm water absorption, aging, and compression set before outdoor use.
