Materials
Material choice decides compression recovery, outdoor life, adhesive performance, cost, and the documents that can be provided for a project.
Material Options
| Material | Best Fit | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| EPDM | Outdoor electrical enclosures, control cabinets, HVAC units | Good weather, ozone, aging, and water resistance. Not ideal for long oil exposure. |
| Silicone | High or low temperature, UV exposure, soft sealing | Flexible and stable, usually higher cost than EPDM or NBR. |
| NBR | Oil-resistant gasket applications | Useful around oils and fuels, less preferred for long outdoor exposure. |
| Neoprene / CR | Balanced industrial sealing and foam gaskets | Good general-purpose option when weather, oil, and flame behavior all matter. |
| EVA / PU Foam | Cushioning, dust sealing, packaging, low-pressure sealing | Confirm water absorption, aging, and compression set before outdoor use. |
